Cruising with Angels

Take a vacation and come on a cruise with Angels on Earth Editor-in-Chief Colleen Hughes.

I get teased for not ever going anywhere on vacation.

Oh, I use up every single day of my allotted time off. My daughters and I actually travel a fair amount. We just always go to the same place—home to New Orleans to see my big family.

It’s most fun when the entire Hughes clan ventures en masse over to the Gulf coast of Florida to hang out at the beach. Give me some sun and warm water, family and fresh seafood, and I’m a happy camper.

That’s why I’m super excited about the “real vacation” the girls and I are taking this summer. Guideposts is sending us on a four-night “Bask in the Bahamas” cruise, July 12–16, where I’ll play host to Angels on Earth and Guideposts readers who want to join the fun. (I can’t help thinking of Cruise Director Julie McCoy from The Love Boat.)

What an opportunity to get to know you readers face-to-face. I’ll tell you all about what I do as editor-in-chief of Angels on Earth, and what goes on behind the scenes at the world’s only magazine devoted to angels. And with Louisiana, 12, and Evangeline, 7, along for the ride, you’ll get to know me not just professionally but as a mom (a very blessed one) too.

Imagine lounging on deck sharing angel stories in a heavenly setting. The Royal Caribbean cruise lines’ Majesty of the Seas sails out of Miami—just a hop, skip and a jump from New Orleans.

The girls and I are going to stop in on our way to the boat and say hi to the Hughes gang. Then we want to meet up with as many of you readers as can join us for our angelic adventure on the high seas.

Bon voyage!
