Song of the Bluebird

I knew I had to get beyond my grief for my daughter this Christmas.

Christmas angels bring bluebird to ease her grief

This was my first Christmas without Mom and all I wanted to do was sit on the couch. I knew I had to get beyond my grief, if only for my four-year-old daughter, Madison. But how, Lord?

My mom had been in a similar situation when my brother died. She had to be strong for us other kids. But she had help. A bluebird showed up outside the house and serenaded her for days. “The bird was like an angel telling me everything would be all right,” Mom said.

Mom’s bluebird story made me feel better. I hopped up off the couch to wake Madison. We looked out her bedroom window.

“Hear the bird singing?” Madison asked. I listened closely. Yes! And the words to its song were, “Everything will be all right.”
