For the past year we’ve been running an item in Family Room updating you on the work of our Outreach Division. We’ve gotten interesting responses too, the most frequent of which is, “I didn’t know Guideposts was so involved in helping others.”
Outreach has always been a part of Guideposts, and was established to develop ways to reach people in need. I’ve told you about our military program that supplies thousands of service personnel and their families with free books, magazines and other inspiring literature. We work closely with chaplains on the front lines and at home, especially in our military hospitals, where the need for hope and inspiration is so great.
Of course you know about OurPrayer. Last year the OurPrayer staff and volunteers prayed for more than 700,000 requests, each one by name and need. At OurPrayer.org you can pray for others or be prayed for, 24 hours a day. What better way to bring the world together than through prayer?
One of the reasons I love working for Guideposts is that it is more than a magazine. I think that’s one of the reasons you subscribe to it as well.
