But I will sing of Your strength and will joyfully proclaim Your faithful love in the morning. For You have been a stronghold for me, a refuge in my day of trouble. Psalm 59:16

Last night my husband, Scott, had to rush me to the hospital. It was a race against the clock as I experienced my first-ever allergic reaction to strawberries.

On the way out the door, I had accidentally grabbed my son’s tube of eczema lotion instead of his epi-pen, in case I needed it. The boxes look pretty similar. I’m fairly sure that a slathering of steroid cream does not have the same effect as a shot of life-saving epinephrine. Clearly, my life and all of my breaths are held in the palm of the One Who created me. And He saved me. Plain and simple.

It seems that He has more days for me to live out. This morning a thought popped into my head, You should read Psalm 30. It seems that He has given me a new directive. Not to be silent. To tell of His faithfulness. To praise Him.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. That is me. I have breath. And I am beyond grateful for it. I am thankful for the greatness of the One Who saves. The One Who delivers. Jesus answers whispered prayers and frightened cries for help. He lifts us up to a firm place and rescues us from the pit of death . . . both figuratively and literally. He is good. Can I get an amen?

Prayer
Dear God, You have saved me, more times, and in more ways, than I can possibly count. How can I begin to thank You? My praise is but the smallest token, but I give it freely and unreservedly. In Jesus’s name. Amen.

Faith Step
Read Psalm 30:1–4 and Psalm 59:16 out loud. Add your own praises to the end, thanking Jesus for each breath He has given you.
