My sister Julia loved the Bible. And Guideposts. Even as her vision failed, she wouldn’t let her daughter throw out her old issues, in case she was miraculously healed. I tried reading to her, but my voice wasn’t strong enough—I made it only a few paragraphs into a story before Julia said she couldn’t hear me.
Then I remembered our friend Grady Henderson. She had a good, clear voice. When Grady opened the Bible and started reading, Julia broke into the biggest smile I’d seen in a long time. Grady was happy she had something to offer.
Every one of us has a way to serve the Lord and put a smile on someone’s face. If you have a great voice, why not look for someone who wants to hear a great story?
