Ten ways to pray (when you don’t feel like praying):
- Go for a walk.
- Sing a favorite song and feel how glad it makes you.
- Write a note or send an e-mail to someone you haven’t heard from in a long time.
- Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
- Go through the alphabet and think of a person or people who could use help for each letter.
- Remember that you are loved.
- Tell someone that you love them.
- Say quietly, “All will be well, all will be well, all will be well.”
- Look to the sky at night or wait for a few moments in the sun.
- Believe the thing that makes you happiest.
Any of these things will bring you closer to prayer than you ever thought.
