Healing Day of Prayer

Getting to the place of saying, “Yes, I want to be made well.”

Prayer blogger Peola Hicks

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:5-6)

Do you want to be made well? For more than 60 years, we have gathered on Monday morning for prayer fellowship, to catch the attention of Jesus with the needs of people who want to get well. Healing is at the very heart of the ministry of Jesus.

We know that those who send in prayer requests for healing want to be made whole. They trust us to get the attention of Jesus to attend to their need. They all have different ailments, but they believe that Jesus is concerned about them. Sometimes they are too weak to ask for themselves so they have people who love them ask on their behalf.

There are many accounts of healing evil spirits and other demonic oppression during the life of Jesus. Many of the people who followed Jesus were once sick and in need of healing. But people often ask whether Jesus still heals. Can we pray for healing in the 21st century? Are people still being made well? The answer is yes. There are no prayer requests that are out of date. We welcome your prayer requests. Let us know how we can pray for your healing.

The man with the infirmity for 38 years may not have had anyone to pray for him, and it could be that he was not able to pray for himself. We are here for you and invite you to join us for our Healing Day of Prayer on September 17. It is our opportunity to intercede for you and to join you in saying, Yes, I want to be made well.

God bless you!
