It’s a great time to work at Guideposts. All week, the staff has been participating in a Secret Santa gift exchange, and I love arriving at my desk every day to find the goodies my mysterious coworker has left for me.
So far, I’ve received two cans of energy drink (hmm… somebody knows me well), a framed copy of the first issue of Mysterious Ways, a bicycle gift bag with a hat, gloves and toe warmers for my winter Citibike rides and today, three lottery tickets. “Hopefully you’re a little bit richer than a minute ago,” the card read. I won four dollars!
This morning we also received a variety of delicious Danishes (called “Kringles”) from our frequent contributor Ginger Rue. And I’ve received some wonderful Christmas cards from several people whose stories have been published in Mysterious Ways.
And finally, tonight we’ll be celebrating the season at our annual Guideposts holiday party. I’m proud to say that our Mysterious Ways editors Diana and Dan headed up the planning committee, and they’ve done a great job. We hired my longtime buddy, Chris, to be the DJ. He actually wrote, as far as I’m concerned, a pretty great Christmas song, “Santa’s Best Friend.” Can you guess who Santa’s pal is? It’s not Rudolph.
What are you doing for Christmas? Have you received any Secret Santa gifts that moved you more than the gift-giver could have imagined? This is the time when we become more aware of the miracles around us… share the ones you discover this year with Mysterious Ways!
