Remember that old saying, “Never trust a skinny cook?” Well, you don’t have to look at me for long to know that I’m completely trustworthy.

Yeah, it seems I’ve sampled too much of my cooking. All to say that you can believe me when I tell you I’ve got a great recipe for you today.

Did you know that February 5 is World Nutella Day? I had fun experimenting in the kitchen awhile back and the result is this recipe for Nutella and Strawberry Mini Pies.

It comes with my husband’s seal of approval and would be a yummy treat to make for your honey on Valentine’s Day. How can you go wrong with Nutella, strawberries and cream cheese?

Michelle's Nutella and strawberry pie.Nutella and Strawberry Mini Pies

(12 servings)

8 oz. container of cream cheese (the kind that comes in a plastic tub instead of the box)

8 oz. sour cream

½ cup of sugar

2 pkg. mini graham cracker pie crusts (six per package)

13 oz. jar of Nutella

1 quart of strawberries

1 squirt can of whipped cream

Combine the cream cheese, sour cream and sugar. Whip until blended. Divide the mixture into the 12 graham cracker pie crusts. Chill. Right before serving time, wash the strawberries. Pat them dry with a paper towel and then slice them.

Layer the strawberries in a pretty pattern on top of the cream cheese mixture. Put a spoonful of Nutella (or whatever amount you want) in the middle and surround the chocolate with whipped cream.

*The Nutella hardens in the refrigerator and the strawberries are better when freshly sliced so wait to assemble the strawberries, Nutella and whipped cream until right before serving.

And in case any of you aren’t familiar with Nutella, it’s a chocolate hazelnut spread that is usually found in the peanut butter section of the grocery store.

God give us richly all things to enjoy. (I Timothy 6:17)
