Maybe you’ve seen this optical illusion photo, originally posted on Imgur, around the web the past month or two. I saw it on Facebook the other day, and I will fully admit that it left me scratching my head.
What about you? Can you spot anything near the comforter that seems odd or off?
When I discovered the answer, I had to smile. How could I not have seen it? It was so obvious!
I emailed the photo to some friends at work to see if they’d catch on faster than I did. One colleague emailed back saying she saw a snake under the comforter.
Another saw a shadow in the shape of a cat on the floor. Still another saw a smiley face in the blanket’s design.
And a few people figured it out right away.
I won’t keep you in suspense any longer. That red circle indicating an error in the photo? Well, it’s actually a…hula hoop!
As silly as it may be, I think this photo actually says a lot (and not just about how imaginative my co-workers are!).

There’s so much unfolding right under our noses that we don’t even notice. Little wonders, miracles and blessings. Sometimes we’re not looking from the right angle. Sometimes the full picture hasn’t been revealed to us just yet. But they’re there, waiting to be seen. “Red hula hoops” that God has placed along our path.
