Random Acts of Kindness for Christmas

How simple acts of love can bring profound joy to those around you.

Random acts of kindness at Christmas

While some people have already finished their Christmas shopping, others are still trying to figure out what to buy or make for loved one and friends (including myself). It’s only natural that we focus our time and energy on getting gifts for those close to us. But what if we demonstrated random acts of kindness, not only to those we know, but even to those we don’t, this Advent season.

Could you imagine if everyone who read this blog made this their mission for December? Not only would we impact hundreds of people, but these good deeds would impact us as well. Our lives would be filled with profound joy. Kindness conveys the spirit of Jesus, who is the reason for the season.

There are people within our community, family and church who would benefit greatly from our simple gifts of kindness. And these gifts of kindness shouldn’t be limited to materialistic offerings. You could invite someone to your home for a holiday dinner, adopt a family who is undergoing financial hardships, cook a meal for someone who is ill or shovel the snow for an elderly person. The list is endless. What is most important is that the deed comes from the heart with love.

In this Advent season, let us not limit our giving to only those we know and love. May we remember that there are many people in need and when we help them, we experience the power of God’s unlimited love. What gift of kindness did you give or receive this holiday season? Please share with us.

Lord, in this Advent season, make us Your instruments of kindness to all those that we meet.
