[MUSIC PLAYING] Lately I’ve been reading about Abraham, his story in the book of Genesis, and also the follow up to the words of Hebrew’s chapter 11 verse 8. How he listened to the voice of God, and left his home and family to a land he had never traveled to. A land he had never– really was unaware of.
And that got me thinking, what would happen if I would wholeheartedly trust the Lord. If I wholeheartedly began to take a step of faith, and move into unknown territory, and getting out of my comfort zone. Well, it happened to me several years ago. And it’s been a while, but it’s a story that continues to nudge at my heart.
I was living in California. I wanted to head back home to the east coast, back to the New York area, and God early on just prompted me that I would have to leave my job without yet having a job in my hand. Now, that was kind of scary. Challenging. And I just kind of let that go by, and finally in the fall of that year decided it was time to take a stand. Told my wife, I’m going to do it. And I talked to my boss, saying no matter what happens, at the end of December I’m leaving.
Guess what? Soon as I made that decision, opportunities began in California and opened up, but I knew that was not the place. Finally I was able to find a ministry position in a Acoma, New York. Little that I know it would be the place where Guidepost was located. And that’s how I got to Guidepost. Because I took a step of faith, I moved out of my comfort zone into a place I did not know. And today I enjoy the blessings of doing ministry here because of that decision.
I made faith a reality by taking a step moving forward. What can you do? What are the things that can you accomplish, if you move one step at a time in the power of faith? God is with you, because God has been with me, and together we can enjoy this wonderful journey. Blessings to you.
