The September/October issue of Angels on Earth always includes one of our readers’ favorite collections of stories, “Till We Meet Again.” Who can resist such stories, all proof that the promise of everlasting life is true – and that we will see our departed loved ones again one day in heaven.
If you received your Angels issue already, you saw that the opening piece, called “Across the Rainbow Bridge,” is about the reunion of a man and his beloved cat. On earth the two were nearly inseparable, why should it be any different in heaven?
We didn’t have space in the magazine to reprint the Rainbow Bridge prose poem, but thank goodness for the internet. Here is the Rainbow Bridge in its entirety, for you to remember all your pets who’ve gone from this world into the next, and to read aloud to the ones who are probably right this minute sitting at your feet or on your lap, or stepping lightly over your keyboard, even watching you from an aquarium or perch nearby.
Enjoy and imagine the glory of creatures of every kind playing joyfully in that rich green meadow up above.

Rainbow Bridge
-Author Unknown
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again –
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.
