It’s a chilly, rainy day in New York. I’m sitting at my desk alternately staring at the pile of Christmas-themed stories in front of me and staring out the window at the lousy weather.
I can’t say I feel much like reading. I want to be inspired by spring!
I’m a warm-weather person and never more excited viscerally and revived spiritually than by the arrival of spring. All those sunny days to look forward to! Sandals and T-shirts! Iced tea and porches! Green, green grass!
Actually, today looks and feels more like a real Christmas Day in New Orleans, where it never stays too cold for too long and that’s not even until February. December is still warmish and nobody stays in their church clothes for long. “Get comfortable” is the rule down there, even on Christmas Day.
So I think I’ll move my pile of manuscripts over to the sofa in my office and get comfy. Spring will arrive soon enough. Meantime, I think I feel the Christmas spirit coming on.
Don’t you have a Christmas story you’ve wanted to share? Get in the spirit with me and send it in now, to angelseditors@guideposts.org—or by snail mail, to Guideposts, 16 E. 34 St., New York, NY 10016.
Mark the envelope “Christmas” so I open it right away, just like a present! And, as always, your angel stories arrive with perfect timing in any season.
