Caves that Glow

Take a little mental vacation by researching God’s wonders around the world.

Summer is almost here and I have vacation on my mind. In a few weeks, my friends and I will be headed to Hawaii and I can hardly wait–I can almost hear the luau music!

In the meantime, I’m taking a little mental vacay by researching God’s wonders around the world. If ever you need a getaway in the middle of a busy day, I highly recommend looking up mystical, faraway lands. Seriously, it works!

Take a look, for instance, at the stunning Waitomo Glowworm Caves in New Zealand. Talk about God’s artistic touch!

The caves were officially explored in the 1880’s and have been a tourist attraction since. Thousands of aqua lights dot the cave ceilings. The glowworms behind the otherworldly light–Arachnocampa luminosa–are native to New Zealand.

Will I ever see the Waitomo Glowworm Caves outside of a mental vacation? Maybe not. But I’m still mesmerized by how God touches every little corner of the world with beauty and light. There’s so much wonder waiting to be explored, whether it’s far, far away or just outside your door.

What about you? Which of God’s wonders are on your must-visit list?
