More Research on What Happens When We Die

“Just as loving hands greet us when we’re born,” says Kessler, “loving arms will embrace us when we die.” Heavenly angels, maybe…

Raymond Moody’s book, Life After Life, probably started the interest in near-death experiences, as he interviewed people who had gone through the “tunnel of light,” and had been able to “come back” and tell us about it.Then hospice began, and specially-trained nurses noted that as death neared, patients often talked out loud, identifying their own relatives and having conversations, or perhaps commenting on beautiful music that no one could hear. Such experiences were sometimes written off as hallucinations or side effects of medication, but eventually the wealth of information could no longer be ignored.

Now another healthcare worker adds his research to the question, What happens when we die? David Kessler has written Visions, Trips, and Crowded Rooms (recently highlighted by the Los Angeles archdiocesan newspaper) which offers the possibility that many people might be awaiting our arrival in the next world, perhaps everyone we have ever known (hence, “Crowded Rooms”)! “Just as loving hands greet us when we’re born,” says Kessler, “loving arms will embrace us when we die.” This should give the believers among us even more reason to live our lives with faith and peace.here.
