My favorite time of the day arrives early each morning. We have woods and a meadow behind our house, and if I time it just right, I can stand at our kitchen doors and enjoy a cup of tea while watching the morning light emerge.
At first, there are just faint glimmers through the trees. Then bright patches of sunlight appear on the green carpet of grass. Over the next 10 minutes or so, the luminous show is gorgeous, God’s handiwork on display in a private showing just for me.
There’s something about sunshine that just makes a body feel good, especially when it follows days of rain or gloom. But even more, I’m grateful for the Son who shines light into my life each day, penetrating darkness, lighting up my world with joy and comfort.

There are some amazing verses in His Word about light, and I want to share some in case you need an extra dose of “Sonshine” today:
For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. (Psalm 18:28)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The Lord will be a light to me. (Micah 7:8)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)
Enjoy the sunshine of His love and share the light of Jesus with others. You might help them emerge from darkness.
