What God Can Do with Small Things
When we serve others on a day-to-day, moment-to-moment basis, we’re loving with the love of Christ

The porch is our family’s gathering place. It’s a resting place. A place of connection.
Even as God’s most prized creation, we also need to be girded against life’s wind, weather and storms.
New-beginning grace is empowering. It brings a desire to love others, to forgive, to serve, to extend mercy, and to share the life-saving gospel of Christ.
When I need to hear the Lord’s voice, I can put myself in a quiet position.
We, as followers of Christ, can leave a delightful trace of the presence of the Lord.
This truth is sweet comfort to my soul. God is always present, always powerful, reaching into my life with loving hands. He doesn’t break. His attention doesn’t fade or divert.
In our fallen world, there is plenty of room for brokenness. Yet there is also a message of hope and it comes from having faith in God.
I don’t know when I’d experienced such love. When I think back, I can still remember the quiet of darkness broken by our voices, the delicious goodness of having my mom all to myself.
Maybe the restfulness that I long for is somewhat of a choice. Maybe it’s a conscious effort to ask the Spirit to help me claim what I know that I need.
We still do May Day baskets because it’s an opportunity, a simple-easy way to love someone. It’s a way to reach into a life and say, “Hey, I value you. I’m glad that you’re here.”
It’s easy to say “God is good” when the sun is on our shoulders. But He is also mightily present when the rain comes.
