“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9
The head of our university is a busy woman. She has about a thousand things going on all of the time, situations and people demanding her attention from every direction. It’s a hard job and she balances it well
The other day we had a meeting scheduled. I had been working on a proposal for her, trying to get a study-abroad program started at our school. It was pretty involved, as I’d consulted with others with similar programs, surveyed our student body, and drawn up plans for how to approach our first student-travel opportunity. I was pretty jazzed to share it all with her and hopefully get the ball rolling. Then her secretary called and told me the meeting was postponed. The boss was too busy; we’d have to reschedule.
It happens to everyone, doesn’t it? Life gets in the way; we get busy and have to change plans with people, tell people to wait or wait ourselves on something we feel is important. It’s the human condition.
Thankfully, it’s not Jesus’ condition. He is never late, never too busy, never unable to devote His full attention to us. We never have to reschedule. He sees us as individuals and we are all vitally important to Him. There are no hoops we have to jump through, no balancing of other interests, no hierarchy to His love.
Faith step: Go to Jesus with whatever you need—now. He’s more than available; He’s waiting to hear from you.
