Walk with God
Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.—Genesis 5:24 (NIV)
In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works.—EPHESIANS 2:10 NCV
Wrapped up in caregiving, it can be difficult to see our own needs. But others can. One person may say something like, “You’re working too hard. You need to take a break.” Another will say, “You need to repair the railing on those stairs. Let me help you.” Still someone else will say, “Let me pay for a housekeeper this month. You just have too much to do.”
Listen to those people. Members of the body of Christ are meant to work as a unit, to serve and love one another through good deeds. Don’t be afraid to say when you need help. Don’t be afraid to receive good works. For we were created in Christ Jesus to do good works.
None of us can be all things to all people, so let’s face our limits. Sure, asking for help is difficult. Receiving help can be even more difficult. But the truth is that all caregivers need help sometimes.
Today let’s humble ourselves and give others an opportunity to exercise their gifts as well. The blessings will be mutual.
Heavenly Father, help me to humble myself as a caregiver. Give me courage to ask for help—and to receive help when I need it. Help me to acknowledge that You created us all for good works.

For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.—1 Thessalonians 5:5 (ESV)
After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.”—Acts 13:22 (NIV)
