Deeds of Wisdom

Have you ever met someone who seems to have the gift of “understanding”? Such a person is genuinely compassionate because they relate to the other person. They connect on a deep level.

How much more wonderful would it be if we walked in understanding with God, especially during the tough seasons of our lives? We would think His thoughts, have His heart for people, act the way He would act, and respond the way He would respond. In short, we would be His hands and feet in action.

If you’re struggling to have genuine compassion, if you’re trying your best to make something work that doesn’t seem to, ask God to give you His kind of understanding. Once you catch a glimpse of His heart for the person you’re caring for, then your deeds will arise from a place of godly sincerity. And those deeds, which spring from your relationship with Him, will be evident to everyone you come in contact with.
