Sing a New Song
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.—Psalm 96:1 (NIV)
But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.—JUDE 1:20 NIV
Our world often seems like a ship out of control on a perilous ocean. As challenges and doubts threaten to overwhelm us, how can we stand firm? While the deck shifts beneath our feet, let’s grab hold of our lifeline: God’s Holy Spirit, who comes alongside to aid us.
As caregivers, we often feel as if we’re asked to accomplish the impossible. With limited resources, we’re expected to take on a world of disease and battle it to the end. Overwhelmed, we wonder how we’ll weather this storm.
But have we noticed that seemingly impossible situations often work themselves out after we pray? Have we seen His work in our spirits, as we remain cool under pressure? That’s our lifeline, holding us fast.
It’s always wise to tap into the Spirit’s power—but especially so when we face caregiving trials. If we can’t find time for Bible study, we might listen to God’s Word as we drive to the grocery store or do chores. Prayer can be worked in at any odd moment—or even during the sleepless night hours.
Never allow the work of caregiving to separate you from God. He’s our essential connection—our lifeline. We need Him now more than ever!
Lord, please help me stay in touch with You, no matter how much work lies before me. You alone are always my lifeline.
