This has been a year like no other. The effects of the coronavirus pandemic have extended to every single part of our lives. Many people are sick, without work, isolated, lonely—and scared.
And yet, still—even in 2020—there is so much to be grateful for. That’s why we’re inviting you to spend one hour in fellowship with us rejoicing in all of God’s glory.
Hosted by Ty’Ann Brown, Vice President of Ministries at Guideposts, the Facebook Live Event will be a joyful hour of prayer, music by Mission Worship and words of wisdom from special guest speaker Karen Diefendorf, Director of Chaplain Services at Tyson Foods. All day the Guideposts staff, as well as the vibrant OurPrayer Community, will be praying over the thousands of requests—both written and online—that we’ve received from every corner of the country.
For many years, Guideposts has celebrated Thanksgiving Day of Prayer on the Monday before Thanksgiving.
“Yes, this year’s event will be different; it’s all online,” said Brown. “But what remains the same is the power of people coming together and being united by faith, hope and prayer.”
You can also hope and pray that you’ll win one of the grand prizes in our Holiday Giveaway! Enter here and look forward to a better year with our best-selling devotionals Daily Guideposts 2021 and Mornings with Jesus 2021, as well as Tyson coupons for turkey, chicken and more.
“This year has been so difficult for so many people,” Brown said, acknowledging that sometimes it can be hard to feel thankful. “But Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us: ‘Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’ That means give thanks, even when you’ve lost your job. Give thanks, even though people you love are sick with Covid. Let’s all give thanks that God has seen us through this rough year. We’ll be praying for your family and loved ones, we’ll be praying for healing and we’ll be praying for a better year ahead.”
