How to Stay Digitally Connected to the OurPrayer Community

The OurPrayer App may no longer be available, but the community’s prominent digital presence remains.

Although the OurPrayer App has been removed from the Apple and Google Play Stores, there are still several ways to stay connected with the OurPrayer faith-filled community. Whether it’s on social—through the OurPrayer Facebook page or the OurPrayer Instagram account, which combined boasts almost 2 million active followers and gives users access to Bible verses, quotes, prayers and a wide range of Guideposts articles—or the prayer request forms that allow you to submit prayers for the community to pray for you.

“We believe in the power of prayer,” says Ty’Ann Brown, Vice President of Ministries for Guideposts Outreach Division. “Prayer transforms lives, connects people and communities, and ultimately, transforms the world into a better place.  We believe God hears and answers prayers and that’s why we continue to grow our digital prayer presence—both on our website and on social media.”

When the Coronavirus pandemic swept across the world, Guideposts adapted by offering additional spiritual support online. The popular Days of Prayer, including the longstanding Good Friday Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Day of Prayer, were transitioned to a digital format. These events, which for decades attracted hundreds of guests and generated thousands of prayer requests, are now popular online events featuring special guest speakers, music, reflection and live prayer. Eight other smaller days of prayer—including Healing Day of Prayer and Financial Day of Prayer—offer opportunities to read focused articles, explore spiritual themes and to submit prayer requests to the caring community.

The Power of Prayer newsletter, which features stories, articles and prayer tips from Guideposts.org, is delivered to thousands of subscribers’ inboxes each week. Free eBooks, which contain collections of stories about prayer, are also available.

Followers are encouraged to pray for one another here and directly on social media pages. Take some time to energize yourself by joining Ty’Ann Brown on the first Wednesday of every month as she leads a rousing session of live prayer on Facebook.

“Although we’re pausing on the prayer app, we are continuing to commune on our digital platforms to pray for one another, believing that God hears and answers our prayers.”
