We’re kicking off our new blog with four inspiring comments from our Facebook fans.

We’re kicking off our new blog, What Inspires You, with four inspiring comments from our Facebook fans about what/who is inspiring them this week!

Wendy Weldon
I was inspired today by a mountain climber (Eric Alexander) who shared his experience of a team climb with a blind man, up (and down) Mt. Everest. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (KJV) “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” We’re not in this alone… we need to help others make it. As we ourselves take on the challenge of the path, with many trials along the way—we shouldn’t go on it alone—we help each other. And, the trek requires to Prepare, Ascend and Triumph. Great inspiration for heading into 2011!

I was inspired by this blog post by a mother who lives in my town, but who I don’t know personally. Her 12-year-old son was about to go into surgery to remove a brain tumor, and her response and ongoing witness has been extraordinary in every way. I have never found myself in a position that required this kind of “deep water faith,” but if I ever do, I know I’ll go back and read this post for inspiration. (For a brief summary of how things unfolded with her son’s successful surgery for his non-malignant tumor, see this post.)

Friends’ encouragement inspired me. I’ve been struggling to finish my new book and recently not one but two friends told me out of the blue how much they loved my work and were eager to see what I’d do next. It was just what I needed to hear when I needed to hear it.

The quotation below, which I received in an email from my daughter, has inspired me to make this my new year’s resolution.

A Good New Year’s Resolution
During the coming year I will go nowhere I can’t take Jesus Christ.
I will say nothing I would not want Him to hear.
I will do nothing I would not want Him to know about.
I will be the best example to others that I possibly can, for His sake.

Look for our Facebook post every Tuesday asking what inspires you each week. Your answer may show up in this blog on Wednesday!
