If you ran into Dahlia Miller on the sidewalk in Hephzibah, Georgia, chances are she’d be carrying a tote bag (or two!) filled with issues of Guideposts magazine.

She might even be pulling a cart stacked with boxes of the magazine.

Why? Because Dahlia has made it her mission to see that as many people as possible read our inspiring stories.

It all started in 2003 when Dahlia’s husband was receiving chemo treatments at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon. She noticed there wasn’t much reading material in the waiting room.

“So I went down to the chaplain’s office,” she says. “He had copies of Guideposts, and I asked if I could hand some around. ‘Sure!’ he said.”

That got Dahlia thinking. There were plenty of other places where people could use some inspiration—like employment offices or doctors’ waiting rooms or shelters.

That’s when she called me. Part of my job at Outreach is to find ways to put our magazine into the hands of the people who need it most. Dahlia wanted to help.

“Could you send me some magazines to give away?” she asked. Of course! She called again a few weeks later. “My carport is filled with boxes of Guideposts,” Dahlia practically shouted. “I couldn’t be happier.”

She had a stamp made that reads “PASS ON—DON’T THROW AWAY,” and she stamps each magazine she gives away—12,000 and counting. “People are always telling me what a blessing Guideposts is.”

None of this could happen without donations from you readers. You make it possible for us to give some 200,000 copies of Guideposts magazine every month to the military, nursing homes, hospitals, schools and prisons.

With your help—and Dahlia’s—we’re sharing the blessings.
