Hi, I’m Megan Troise, online editor of guideposts.org In the February issue of Guideposts magazine, there is a story about a woman who receives a bouquet of roses made out of chocolate kisses, just like this. Today, I’m going to show you how to make them. So all of these items that you’ll need, you can find at your local craft store or local convenience store. And what you want to do is start with a bag of Hershey Kisses, along with your rubber cement glue. And you only need a little bit of glue on one end.

And just press them together, and they should stick in about 30 seconds or so. And then you’ll take your red cellophane, which you can buy in a roll like wrapping paper and cut it into squares about this size. And you’re just going to wrap it around the Kisses, pretty tightly so it looks smooth. And it’ll gather at the end here. And you’ll take your thin green ribbon and tie a knot at the bottom, cinching the cellophane. And you’ll definitely have some extra, which you’ll want to cut off, both the ribbon and the cellophane.

Next, you’re going to take a plant stake, which you can buy in a package like this. Take the pointed end and stick it right up into the chocolate, and there’s your rose. And what you’ll need next after you’ve made a few of them are some fake greenery from the craft store. You can buy them in bunches like this with various different kinds of leaves. You’ll take your roses and you’ll arrange them within the greenery. And then using some nice red ribbon like this– you can buy a roll of it– you’ll tie it around the bouquet into a nice bow. And there you go chocolate roses, but remember don’t eat them, they’re just for show. Happy Valentine’s Day from our family Guideposts.
