I never knew what to do with the candies and other snacks that accumulated at my desk on holidays and special occasions. It’s hard to refuse gifts, but I didn’t want to stray from my healthy diet.
Then I saw a great idea on Facebook. A woman who also received more treats than she could eat found a food pantry that had a take-what-you-want table. Her snacks came in individual portions, so people could grab a couple when they were there picking up their usual staples.
The next time I get gourmet snacks, instead of seeing them as a danger to my waistline, I’ll look at them as a treat for someone else. I’ll bet the kids who come to the food pantry would agree.
