Hi, it’s Edward and Gracie, talking to you again from the trail. Let’s see, here’s Gracie for you. She wants to say hi.

Last time that we talked, I mentioned some of the things I’m getting used to in Covid, in the time of Covid. And one thing I didn’t mention is I am getting used to wearing a mask and I’m getting used to mask breath as well. So I’m gonna pull this down since we’re out in the middle of nowhere.

I’ve actually been wearing a mask since before the shutdown began by a few days. You know, just because I thought it was the right thing to do. Also because Julia had had spinal surgery at the end of last year and she contracted a really bad, nasty bacterial infection and they sent her home with a PICC line, which goes directly into the bloodstream, and we had to give antibiotics three times a day through that PICC line. And we had to practice sterile procedures, so I wore a mask and gloves, and we sterilized everything.

So I really got used to it, so when it came time to wear it in public for Covid, it wasn’t so hard for me and I wear it all the time. Now, this isn’t a political discussion here. It’s not an ideological one or anything else. I wear the mask not because the government tells me to wear the mask, not even because specifically the medical experts tell me to wear the mask. I wear the mask because Jesus tells me to wear it. Jesus tells me to love my neighbor and if wearing a mask does that, if it protects others in addition to protecting myself, then I will do it as a way to show love and care and respect for my neighbors. And that’s the only reason I do it.

I don’t know about you, it’s an individual decision. I believe that. But for me, it’s the only right decision, so that’s what I’ve gotten used to and I hope for those of you who are wearing a mask, you’ve gotten used to it too. This is Edward from the trail and Gracie, and wishing you a great day. Stay well. I’ll see you again, bye.
