[MUSIC PLAYING] I’m mogul skier Hannah Kearney, and I’m from Norwich, Vermont. I got into skiing because my parents taught me how to ski before I even remember learning, as a two-year-old. My mother actually signed up for the sport of freestyle skiing with me when I was eight years old and too shy to go it alone. And since then, I’ve made the national team, and now get to represent Team USA.
I think, as I’m training, I try to remind myself to stay in the moment. It helps me focus and perform the best, but it also helps me enjoy the wonderful places I get to see, the wonderful weather I get to experience, and the opportunity to travel, and compete, and do what I love. Because It’ll be over before I know it, and I don’t want to forget anything.
This is my gold medal from the 2010 Olympics, and the first American gold medal of those games.
