Now that it’s been warmish all week, I promised my girls we’d go up in the attic and dig out their summer clothes.
For seven-year-old Evangeline, going up in the attic for clothes is like going on an in-house shopping spree, thanks to hand-me-downs from her big sister and older girl cousins. Pull it brand-new off a rack or broken in out of a storage box, it’s all the same to Evie. And if it’s pink or sparkly, well, what could be better!
The attic will no doubt hold a few things that still fit Louisiana from last summer, but she’ll refuse to wear them. “Mom, I’m twelve,” she’ll say. “That shirt was okay last year when I was eleven, but…”
As usual, the change of seasons will mean a trip to the mall for us. And this year the three of us need new bathing suits for our dreamy cruise.
