Focus Features just released the full-length trailer for their upcoming documentary on beloved TV icon Mr. Rogers and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

Today marks what would’ve been the famous host’s 90th birthday and fans are celebrating this new look at the film that offers a glimpse into the heart and soul of a man who had such an extraordinary impact on children everywhere.

Filled with behind-the-scenes looks and commentary from people who knew him best, Won’t You Be My Neighbor chronicles the life and career of Mr. Rogers, a loveable, gentle figure whose kid-friendly TV series was quite radical for his time.

According to show producer Margy Whitmer, the show took all the elements that made for good television at the time and did the exact opposite for Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Not only did it work, the series left an indelible legacy, addressing everything from race relations to presidential assassinations in a way that children could understand.

For Mr. Rogers, the show’s main goal was to spread kindness, love, and hope to its viewers and it looks like the documentary is continuing that mission.
