How your outpouring of care and support helps us make the world a better place through hope, faith and prayer.

You folks are incredible. A while back I posted a blog about my fear of forgetting and the anxiety that little glitches in my memory provoke as signs that I may be experiencing early signs of dementia. I’ve started going to a neurologist to find out more.

I turned that blog into an article, Forgetting to Remember, in the May issue of Guideposts as part of a special section sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association. As with the blog, I invited your comments, and I was amazed and humbled by the outpouring of care and support.

You shared your experiences with your parents, grandparents, siblings, spouses and yourselves. You shared Bible quotes, prayers, recipes, nutritional advice, exercise tips, memory tricks and even a few miracle cures. But most moving of all you shared your stories. Your incredible, inspiring stories.

You spoke to me as a friend which means more than you can know. That you find Guideposts a place where you can share your greatest challenges and heartbreak is an honor. The intimacy with which you reveal your own trials and triumphs, your deepest tests of faith, is really the heart of our relationship with you.

I want to thank you for that and for all the support you give our organization. We can’t do what we do without you. You are our partners in making the world a better place, where anything is possible with hope, faith and prayer.

You have given me added motivation and inspiration in writing this book in which I hope to share some of your stories in telling my own. If you are a caregiver, please check out our devotional, Strength and Grace. And for those Friends of Bill who responded, keep coming back.

Bless you all.
