How are you coping with the hustle and bustle of the season? Is your December so jam-packed with holiday events and get-togethers that you are wondering when you’ll have time to schedule a bathroom break? Are you feeling more stressed than blessed this time of year?

You’re not alone.

Most of us are overwhelmed, overworked and simply over it during the month of December, when really, we should be overjoyed!

It’s all in how we choose to look at things.

Instead of complaining about having to drive to three different places on Christmas Day for separate celebrations, be thankful to have so many wonderful family members who want to share Christmas. After all, many people find themselves all alone at the holidays.

Instead of whining about having to work on Christmas Eve, be thankful that to have a job when so many folks find themselves out of work.

Instead of grumbling about the number of Christmas parties and holiday happenings to attend, be grateful to have friends and colleagues who value your presence.

A small shift in thinking can make a big difference in attitude.

You know what else helps infuse joy into this season of busyness? Putting the golden rule into practice, finding ways to truly “do unto others as you would have them do unto unto you.” (Matthew 7:12)

When you’re busy about the Father’s business, it’s energizing, not draining. It’s not one more thing you HAVE to do; it’s one more thing you GET to do. God will help you find time in even the craziest of schedules to ring the bell for the Salvation Army or donate time at a local soup kitchen or babysit for that single mom so she can do her Christmas shopping.

To feel more blessed and less stressed this month, start each day spending some time with God—no matter how busy your day might be.

This truly is the most wonderful time of the year especially for Christians because we are celebrating the birth of Jesus!

Let the celebrating begin…
