Ingredients

1 c. soft butter 2 ½ cup flour
½ c. confectioner’s sugar, plus 1 c. for rolling cookies in ¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla ¾ c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

1. Beat butter and vanilla until smooth. Combine dry ingredients, stir into butter mixture just until blended.

2. Mix in walnuts. Chill batter about half an hour.

3. Preheat oven to 400˚F. Roll batter into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-11 minutes.

4. While still hot, roll in confectioners’ sugar. Cool. Just before serving, roll cakes in sugar again.

Makes 4 dozen.
