[MUSIC PLAYING] You know, you’re always wondering if your kids are doing the right thing. This is Psalm 11. And there is a word in here, “righteousness,” “The Lord loves righteousness.” And I think about my kids. Are they doing the right things? Have I trained them so they know what’s the difference between right and wrong? Are they honoring the values that I consider important?

Just the other day, I received an email from my older son, Will. He just graduated from college. He’s 22 years old, he’s out on his own. And Carol, my wife, his mother, had emailed him and said, “My birthday’s coming up. Here’s a couple of things you could get me.” And he emailed her back and said, “Oh, I’ve already got something in mind.” So then he e-mailed me and he said, “I want to get mom tickets to the Giants game because she’s a big Giants fan.” I thought, wow. He thought that all on his own. Somebody must have done a good job with him, probably his mom.

So listen to this about righteousness. “Upon the wicked he shall reign snares fire and brimstone and a horrible tempest, this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous Lord loves righteousness. His countenance doth behold the upright.” I pray I might always be part of that, the upright.
