[MUSIC PLAYING] Hi. Rick Hamlin and Psalm 54– when I was praying this psalm, I was thinking how Jesus told us that we should love our enemies, pray for our enemies. And here, in the psalm, it says, God, He shall reward evil for our enemies. He shall cut them off in thy truth, in His truth.
What has that got to do with loving your enemies? Maybe I needed to ask God to reward evil to my enemies. I– I tried it. I actually thought of somebody who– who felt like an enemy. And I asked for Him to give them whatever awful things He could.
Well, the thing that happened was, a couple of weeks later, I– I was aware that the person wasn’t my enemy. I could understand and felt, actually, love for the person. So here, too, in the psalm– He hath delivered me from all of my troubles.
Let’s listen to those things, those people who we think are enemies. And maybe, if– if we pray for evil, we’ll discover that they are good and that God handles it. And God delivers us from our troubles. Psalm 54.
