When a passenger on a Sunday night Delta flight from Atlanta to Phoenix collapsed from an apparent heart attack, airline crew and fellow passengers rushed to help.
One of those passengers was former NFL player Tim Tebow, according to several news reports.
As the flight attendants and passengers assisted the man, the 28-year-old former quarterback led the family and passengers in prayer.
Fellow passenger Richard Gotti recounted the ordeal in a Facebook post. He praised the Delta crew for their fast work, and he described Tebow’s actions. Tebow “met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation.”
The plane landed in Phoenix, and according to PEOPLE, Tebow accompanied the family to the hospital and stayed with them until they learned the man had died.
“Thank God that we still have people of faith who in times of difficulty look to the Lord,” Gotti wrote in his post.
