Friends pray for each other through hard times. It’s the way we can get them through. Sometimes it’s all that gets us through.
My mother always said the last thing she did before she fell asleep was to picture her kids and pray for them. I do the same thing.
Sometimes what helps me most is to concentrate on one verse. I close my eyes and repeat the phrase, letting the spirit move through me.
Even the best of us can make promises to pray for others and then forget the promise. Does that mean that God won’t be looking out for them?
These prayers have been sung, prayed, memorized, memorialized, anthologized, read, pondered over and treasured for centuries. Do you have a favorite prayer?
Work and prayer. It’s a wonderful mix. Any way to remind ourselves that God is present where we are from nine to five.
Pick a time and place everyday when you can get prayerful. For me it happens to be my morning commute on the New York subway.
