Illuminate God’s Glory

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.—Hebrews 1:3 NIV
As November draws to a close, know that God’s glory is all around you. Even on dark days when it seems there is no good in the world, when the news is bleak or family troubles rise to a hilt, focus on His love for you. Look for the good, the evidence of His beauty every day.
Lord Jesus, thank You for bringing unexpected light to dark days.

The Grace of Forgiveness

If you, God, kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that’s why you’re worshiped.—Psalm 130:3–4 MSG

Making mistakes, hurt feelings, wrongdoings are part of being human, but the good news is that confession brings God’s grace. Because of Jesus’ promise to forgive, no matter how many mistakes we make, or problems we create, we can still receive His ever-renewing mercies.
Lord God, thank You for forgiving me—for lifting guilt from my heart and filling me with Your grace.

Forgive Yourself and Be Free

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.—Romans 8:1–2 NIV
Jesus gives you the power to be free of past mistakes. Pray for Him to help you let go of any burdens—what ifs or should haves that weigh on your mind. Ask Him to help you walk forward and not be held back. Pray for the wisdom you need to break free of yesterday’s chains.
Heavenly Father, help me release my hurts and shame, help me break free.

God’s Got Your Back

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.—Psalm 63:7 NIV
The Bible shows God’s rescuing grace to give us hope from the past and to help us overcome present despair. When you are struggling with a problem, remember a past crisis where He helped you and pray, Lord, I am trusting you to get me through this.

Giving Thanks from the Heart

Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.—Psalm 106:1 NIV
When we give thanks, we not only recognize past blessings—we activate blessings yet to come. On this day of Thanksgiving, reflect on the deep joy of living that comes from recognizing your many gifts and praising God for all the good in your life.

The Whirlwind of Life

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.—Proverbs 16:3 NIV

Does Thanksgiving Eve have you feeling that even though the holidays haven’t officially begun you’re already behind? When holiday stress gets you down, stop what your doing—especially if you seem too busy—and pray. Ask for Jesus’ guidance and blessing.

Dear God, thank You for bringing calm to the whirlwind of my life. Please help me revise my day according to Your will and purpose.

The Answer Is Yes

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.—2 Corinthians 1:20 ESV

God will never break a promise, leave or forsake you, or break His Word. Know that when you put your faith in God, the answer is always Yes. Rejoice in the fact that He will always be true to His promises.

Amen to Your glory!

The Fruitful Life

The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.—Mark 4:18–19 NLT
As we prepare for Thanksgiving, it is the perfect time to thank God for giving us a fruitful life. Because of Him, we can weed out worry and cultivate trust and contentment. When we make Him the center of our life, we experience the true essence of living.
Heavenly Father, thank You for helping me weed unhealthy worries and thoughts from my life.

Jesus Knows

Because he himself suffered when
he was tempted, he is able to help
those who are being tempted.—Hebrews 2:18 NIV

Whatever trial, loss or temptation you are going through, Jesus knows. There is nothing too hard, painful, or devastating that He does not identify with. When you bring your suffering to Him in prayer, He feels Your pain as you feel His comfort.
Heavenly Father, on days when I feel tested, I know I can go on because You are with me.

His Glorious Joy

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.—Colossians 1:11 ESV
God wants us to be joyful, to share His excitement for life—and to enlighten others with His joy by being kind and patient, by caring for one another. When you lift up another’s spirit, you receive an unexpected boost of joy yourself! The more you give the more you receive from life.

Dear God, thank You for Your glorious joy that inspires
me to live generously.
