A New Year Unfolds
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.—Isaiah 43:18 (NIV)
As the year winds down, it’s natural to reflect on the past. If you feel disheartened by something in your life, turn to God and know that He has the strength to help you move forward. He has the grace to guide you to see the goodness and blessings that will unfold in the New Year.
Dear Lord, take my hand and guide my steps to the future filled with Your promises.

Signs from Above
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.—Matthew 2:9 (NIV)
Soon after Christ’s birth, the Wise Men followed the star that led them directly to where the Holy Family was staying. What was that miraculous light in the sky that we call the Star of Bethlehem? In a sermon, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale speculated that perhaps that important star was actually an angel. “Look for angelic messages in your life,” he advised, “not just at Christmas but every single day of the year.”
Dear Lord, may the glory that You sent to the Wise Men so long ago shine on us, around us and through us as long as we live.

In the words of Corrie ten Boom I pray, “Lord through Your Holy Spirit, help me to understand so much of the victory and joy of Your coming to earth that I enjoy Christmas more than ever before.”
