It happens to the best of us—we make rush judgments about people based on wrong information or an unpleasant first impression. The next time you are about to discount someone, reflect on this verse and focus on seeing Christ in them.

Dear God, help me to be less critical and more loving. Guide me to approach others with compassion, patience and love.

Often we focus so much on our worries that we neglect to see what is certain and constant—His many blessings. Remind yourself that no matter what you are going through, as Psalm 30 promises, “joy comes in the morning.”

Heavenly Father, my joy is knowing that I can trust Your promises to always lift my spirits.
