Life has a way of surprising us with events that catch us off guard or plans that turn out differently than our expectations. When you feel upset or disappointed, turn to Him and trust His goodness. It’s been said that life’s disappointments can become divine appointments—important times that lead us to strengthen our connection with God.

Lord, help me to see Your goodness when I am feeling lost and upset. Lead me to let go of my misguided expectations for Your plans.

In the above verse, Jesus seems displeased with His followers. Despite witnessing miracles, they still had doubts. Yet Jesus continued to heal and answer prayers. When you have doubts, focus on this Scripture and know that even the disciples questioned their faith—and Jesus continued to answer their prayers.

Dear Lord, thank You for understanding the “unbelieving and perverse generation” and for teaching us how to pray in spite of our shortcomings.
