Fully Known

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.—1 Corinthians 13:12 (NIV)

Have you ever thought about the difference between doubt and unbelief? Unbelief is denying or rejecting belief. But doubt is being open to possibility and understanding that God doesn’t always allow us to see things fully, as the above verse beautifully describes. Are there areas where you are struggling to believe His Word? Keep asking for His help. In moments and seasons of doubt or unbelief, trust Him and know that one day you will know all things fully.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being patient with me and understanding my doubt and unbelief—even when I don’t.

Have you ever wondered why Jesus chose the men He did as His disciples? It’s not that they were religious scholars, it’s that they were common men, obedient and passionate, and willing to spend time with Him. As St. Augustine famously said, “You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they can find rest in you.”

Heavenly Father, I give You my heart! I long to spend time with You.

God will never give up on you! Sometimes this truth is hard for us to truly take to heart and believe, but Jesus assures us in this parable that He will do anything to find you when you go astray. He will go to any lengths to bring you home.

Heavenly Father, thank You for never giving up on me! Help me to remember, every day, how much You love me.
