Jesus the Great Gardener

He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.”—John 20:15–16 (NIV)

When Mary Magdalene first saw Jesus, she mistook Him for the gardener. Take a moment and reflect on that. Envision Jesus as a gardener tending to your spirit. What beautiful blooms does He have planned for you in this new year?

Almighty God, I trust You to grow new life, to heal the broken parts of me and make me whole and hopeful.
