Bold in Faith

Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.—Mark 15:43 (NIV)

While other disciples remained quiet, Joseph of Arimathea declared his love for Jesus. He boldly stepped out of the shadows and aligned himself with Jesus. He did not let fear or doubt paralyze him. When you need the courage to move forward, trust God is with you, helping you make the first step.

Dear Lord, I can always act with courage because I know that the consequences are in Your hands.

In Isaiah, when Hezekiah was consumed with bitterness, he called out to God and his bitterness was exchanged for wholeness. When you are battling a bad mood, ask the Lord to give you the strength to let go of your hostility. Pray for Him to make you whole.

Dear God, when I am overcome with bitterness, fill me with the wholeness of Your grace.
